Bible in a Year: 2 Chronicles 23–25; John 12:20–50

Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Today's Scripture & Insight: Psalm 46

Sometimes the world around us feels chaotic. Our minds whirl with anxieties, and our hearts pound with fears. It's in these moments that we must take a step back and breathe, reminding ourselves of the presence of God.

As Doug sat in his garden one day, watching the sunlight dapple through the leaves, he was struck by a profound sense of peace. Despite the turmoil that existed beyond his garden's walls, in this moment, he felt God’s gentle reassurance.

The psalmist wrote, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). It's an invitation to quiet our hearts and revel in the knowledge of God’s loving presence. To be still is not about physical stillness but a state of spiritual rest; a moment to cease striving and simply be in His presence.

God's loving presence offers a sanctuary in our turbulent world. It may not eliminate the chaos, but it can bring calm to our souls. As we learn to be still and recognize Him, we become more attuned to His peace amidst the storm.

Reflect & Pray

What situations cause you to feel anxious or fearful? How can you embrace stillness and find peace in God’s presence?

Lord, help me to find stillness in Your presence and trust in Your peace amidst the chaos of life.
