Bible in a Year: 2 Kings 17–18; John 4:1–30

"Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD." Psalm 27:14

Today's Scripture & Insight: Psalm 27:13-14

As a young man, I often felt impatient when I wanted something to happen immediately, and it didn't. Whether it was a job promotion or a new opportunity, waiting was always the hardest part. Over time, I realized this was God's way of teaching patience and reliance on His timing, not mine.

In Psalm 27, David beautifully expresses the essence of waiting upon the Lord. Facing numerous challenges and enemies, he reaffirms his trust in God's perfect timing (v.14). He understood that God's ways and timing are always better than our own.

In our fast-paced world, it can be hard to understand what it means to wait. We crave immediate results and often become frustrated when things don't go as planned. But God operates beyond our time constraints. His plans are always for our good, even if we don't see them right away.

Learning to trust in God's timing can be freeing. It frees us from unnecessary stress and anxiety, allowing us to find peace in the assurance that God is in control. Today, let's be reminded to embrace God's timing, knowing that His plans are always worth the wait.

Reflect & Pray

What situation are you impatient with right now? How can you learn to trust in God's timing?

Father, help me to trust in Your timing, knowing that Your plans are always best. Strengthen my faith as I wait upon You.
