Bible in a Year: Psalm 37-39; Romans 9

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." — Colossians 3:23

Today's Scripture & Insight: Colossians 3:23-24

Sarah was a full-time teacher and the mother of three kids. She often felt like she couldn't keep up with the everyday tasks. She wasn't sure if she was really living out her faith in a meaningful way because she was always doing chores, doing paperwork, and taking care of her kids.

During one of these times of thinking, she came across Colossians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." This verse changed Sarah's way of thinking by reminding her that any task, no matter how small, can be done for Jesus and be significant for eternity.

To be a follower of Christ, you don't have to do big things or work in ministry full-time. It's about finding God in the ordinary things we do and faithfully serving Him, whether we're doing the dishes, teaching a class, or taking care of our kids. When we do everything for Jesus, even the most boring things can become acts of worship.

Like Sarah, do you find it hard to see the point in the everyday? Don't forget Colossians 3:23. Let everything you do be a chance to serve Jesus, and look for significance in the everyday.

Reflect & Pray

Are there tasks in your life that feel mundane or insignificant? How can shifting your perspective to doing it for Jesus change how you approach these tasks?

Dear Lord, help us to see every task as an opportunity to serve You. May we do everything with all our heart, as if we are doing it for You, not just for human masters. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
