Jesus Brings Joy

Bible in a Year: 1 Chronicles 20–22; John 8:1–20

"These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full." John 15:11

Today's Scripture & Insight: John 15:9–13

In the midst of chaos, uncertainty, and trials, we often find ourselves feeling joyless. We may question where we can find joy when life seems so bleak. The answer is in Jesus. He told His disciples, "These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full." (John 15:11). In Jesus, we find a joy that transcends earthly sorrows and troubles.

This joy is rooted in His love, a love that leads us to lay down our lives for our friends, just as Jesus did for us (v. 13). It is a joy that stems from the assurance of our eternal relationship with God, not dependent on our circumstances, but on the unchanging, steadfast love of God.

Jesus offers a joy unlike any other, a joy that brings peace in the storms and light in the darkest nights. This joy is available to us not because of who we are, but because of who He is—our Saviour, Redeemer, and Friend.

Reflect & Pray

How has Jesus brought joy into your life? How can you share this joy with others today?

Lord, thank You for the joy You provide in our most difficult times. Help us to lean into Your joy and share it with others.
