Knowing You're Right with God - man peacefully looking into distance

Bible in a Year: Psalm 28-30; Romans 6

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." — Romans 5:1

Today's Scripture & Insight: Romans 5:1-5

With so much uncertainty in the world, Matthew started to wonder if he was right with God. He struggled with guilt and feelings of not being good enough. He wondered if his faith was enough.

Matthew turned to Romans 5:1 when he was having doubts. It says, "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." This powerful verse reminded him that it's not about being "good enough" for God; it's about accepting the grace that God gives freely through Jesus Christ.

We are righteous not because of what we do or how hard we try but because we trust in Jesus. His death on the cross is what makes things right between God and us. By His grace, we are declared righteous, or justified, and we can have peace knowing that our relationship with God is right.

People often have doubts, as Matthew did. But keep in mind that being right with God doesn't mean you have to be perfect. It means you have to trust in His perfect Son. His grace is enough, and His love is always there.

Do you wonder where you stand with God? Romans 5:1 comes to mind. Take comfort in His grace and rest in the peace that comes from being righteous through faith.

Reflect & Pray

Are you struggling with feelings of unworthiness or doubt? How does the assurance of justification through faith in Christ bring you peace?

Dear Lord, thank You for the assurance of Your grace. Help us understand that it's not about our works, but about faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ, that makes us right with You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
