Bible in a Year: 1 Chronicles 11–13; John 6:45–71

"In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

Today's Scripture & Insight: James 1:2–4; 1 Peter 1:6–7

In life, we all go through seasons of hardship. Whether it's a health crisis, financial difficulties, or relationship struggles, these periods can truly test our faith. Yet, in these trying times, we are presented with a valuable opportunity for spiritual growth.

The Bible tells us, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness" (James 1:2-3). It's not an easy concept to grasp—finding joy in the midst of tribulation. However, this joy stems not from the hardships themselves, but from the spiritual maturity and closeness to God they can foster.

When life seems overwhelming, remember Jesus's words in John 16:33, "In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." This promise of victory doesn't mean we won't face trials, but it assures us that God is with us through them all, nurturing our faith and shaping us to become more like Him.
