Last week we looked at three attitudes that make strong men weak. The first was lust. The second was a spirit of entitlement. And finally, pride.
Samson left his town, traveled four miles to go pursue a Philistine woman that was off-limits to him. He said, "I want it!" Then he broke his Nazirite vow by touching a dead lion for a handful of honey. He said, "I deserve it!" And when he wasn't supposed to get near alcohol, he threw a party before his wedding. And he thought, "I can handle it!" We watched an extremely strong man become very, very weak.
So you think you're strong? If we're honest, most of us tend to think we can handle life pretty well. But how strong are we really?
Even the best intentions falter when faced with temptation. Right men? Yes, this series is for you. For the next four weeks we will be looking at the life of Samson. A strong man for sure. But with a dangerously weak will. Don't let the forces of evil take you out.
