All for Jesus: Living a Life of Devotion
Bible in a Year: Nehemiah 4–6; John 18:19–40
"And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." — Colossians 3:17
Today's Scripture & Insight: Colossians 3:15-24
In our fast-paced, goal-driven society, it's easy to lose sight of our ultimate purpose: to glorify God in all we do. Our work, our relationships, our hobbies – each aspect of our lives offers an opportunity to honor Him.
Paul, writing to the Colossians, drives home this message with a simple yet powerful directive: "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus." Every action, no matter how seemingly insignificant, can become an act of worship when done for God's glory.
Yet, how can we practically live this out? It begins by shifting our perspective. We aren't just employees, parents, or students; we are disciples of Christ, called to reflect His love and character in every aspect of our lives. It's about making the most of every opportunity, demonstrating integrity in our work, showing kindness in our relationships, and seeking to honor God in all we do.
As we step into a new day, let's commit to giving our all for Jesus. Let's turn our everyday actions into acts of devotion, done not for our own glory but for His.
Reflect & Pray
Where can you give more of yourself for Jesus today? How can you glorify God in your daily actions?
Lord, help us to live for You in all we do. May every action, every word, and every thought bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
