Living in God's Light
Bible in a Year: 1 Chronicles 26–28; John 8:48–59
"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all." - 1 John 1:5
Today's Scripture & Insight: 1 John 1:5–10
As we navigate our journey of faith, it’s comforting to know we're not alone. We walk in the light of God, a light that dispels the darkness of uncertainty and fear. The apostle John tells us that "God is light; in him there is no darkness at all" (1 John 1:5). His holy presence guides us, illuminates our path, and helps us discern right from wrong.
Yet, walking in His light isn't about pretending we’re flawless or without mistakes. It’s about honesty, confession, and transformation. "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us" (v. 8). But when we confess our sins, God is faithful and just, forgiving us and purifying us from all unrighteousness (v. 9).
This precious promise encourages us to live in the light of God's truth, being honest about our failures, and seeking His cleansing and transformation. As we walk in His light, we grow in His likeness, guided by His truth and love.
