Strengthened Through Surrender
Bible in a Year: 1 Chronicles 29; 2 Chronicles 1–3; John 9:1–23
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." - Galatians 2:20
Today's Scripture & Insight: Galatians 2:19-21
Surrender often carries negative connotations; it could be interpreted as giving up or losing a battle. But in the spiritual context, surrender can become a means of liberation. This is beautifully represented in the life of the apostle Paul.
Before he became a disciple of Christ, Paul, then known as Saul, was a zealous persecutor of Christians. However, on the road to Damascus, he had a life-changing encounter with Jesus that led him to surrender his life completely to God. It wasn't a loss, but rather a remarkable gain.
Paul writes, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." (Galatians 2:20). Surrendering to God didn't diminish Paul's life. On the contrary, it enriched it beyond measure, filling it with purpose, grace, and a deep, abiding joy.
In surrender, we find strength. We allow God to work in us and through us, revealing the grandeur of His love and the splendor of His plan for our lives. As we yield our desires and plans to Him, we gain the unfathomable richness of a life lived in Christ.
Reflect & Pray
How can surrendering to God make you stronger? What areas of your life do you need to surrender to Him?
Lord, help me to surrender my life fully to You. Guide me to understand that in letting go, I find the true strength that only comes from You
