Waiting for the One
Bible in a Year: Job 29-30; Acts 18
"But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint." — Isaiah 40:31
Today's Scripture & Insight: Isaiah 40:28-31
In her late twenties and still single, Maria was beginning to feel the weight of societal pressures and personal desires to get married. She had a strong longing to share her life with someone, to build a family, and to grow together in love and faith. One day a dear friend reminded her, "Maria, remember, God's timing is always perfect. Continue to hope in the Lord."
The words of Isaiah 40:31 bring comfort and reassurance to those waiting on the Lord for His perfect timing. In our society, where instant gratification is the norm, waiting—especially for something as significant as a spouse—can be challenging. But Scripture reminds us that those who place their hope in the Lord will find renewed strength.
God, in His infinite wisdom and love, knows the deepest desires of our hearts. He understands our longing for love and companionship. Yet, He calls us to trust Him, to yield our desires to His will, and to wait patiently on His perfect timing.
While we’re waiting, we can find comfort and rest in God's promise to renew our strength. He assures us that we will soar on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, walk, and not be faint.
Are you, like Maria, waiting for God's perfect timing in love? Don't give up. God knows your desires, and He is working on your behalf. Continue to trust in His timing and hold onto His promises.
Reflect & Pray
What are you waiting on God for today? How can you find comfort and strength in His promises as you wait?
Lord, thank You for Your perfect timing. Help us to trust in You as we wait for Your plans to unfold in our lives. Renew our strength and fill us with Your peace. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
